Physician Relational Competency Building: Utilizing EI to Enhance Patient Care

This session will review a Physician Relational Competency building development program that was created to enhance patient relationships, team functioning and dynamics and to reduce malpractice risk for physician groups. The basis for this programming stemmed from literature that tied Emotional Intelligence (EQ) to patient satisfaction and the benefit of developing education around EQ, as it is a fluid skill, which could effect physician and patient satisfaction. Participants will learn about emotional intelligence and how developing programming around the assessment instrument can positively affect patient care, physician satisfaction and clinical teams.
