A positive way to enhance your organization's image, both internally and externally, is through special events. The following are a number of ideas to help promote awareness about your patient experience during Patient Experience Week.

Kick Off Event
Hold a special kick-off event.
Show the The Beryl Institute's "I am the Patient Experience" video at the event. If your organization has their own video, now is also a great time to show it. Don't have a video? This week is the perfect opportunity to make one.
An open house is a good opportunity to introduce hospital employees and volunteers to the patient experience efforts taking place in your organization.
This week can be a great opportunity to share educational resources on improving the patient experience.
A luncheon during Patient Experience Week is an excellent way to boost morale. Depending on your budget, you can have a potluck, a special luncheon prepared by your hospital’s dietary staff or a catered meal in a conference room. This is a good time for you or the hospital administrator to present recognition certificates to your staff.
Let the patients in your hospital know you care by dedicating a day in their honor.
Patient Experience Week is a perfect opportunity to recognize the physicians you work with year round. Delivering a recognition certificate, accompanied by a poster, pen or a plant or flowers (budget permitting), is an excellent way to show your appreciation.
Keep the following target audiences and supporters in mind when you choose your Patient Experience Week activities. Plan events during Patient Experience Week to recognize these special people. Applaud your team members and spread the word about patient experience improvement efforts made throughout your facility during Patient Experience Week.

This week provides an opportunity to increase awareness of the patient experience improvement efforts taking place not just in your facility but else where in healthcare
Patient Experience Staff
Highlight the work that your patient experience leaders and patient experience do every day. They deserve recognition for all the work they do. Use Patient Experience Week to let them know how much you value their contributions to improving the patient experience in your facility and spotlight those employees who do an outstanding job.
Physicians and Nurses
Good communication and cooperation with physicians and nurses is essential in providing a quality patient experience. Let your key clinical staff know how much you appreciate their support by recognizing those who contribute to improving the patient experience in your facility.
Ancillary Department Staff
There is not one department in your facility that does not impact the patient experience. This is the time to say thank you to these departments for their support and contributions.
Let your patients know about the work that you do for them beyond providing them with quality healthcare.
Use the week to share information and spread awareness in the community about the patient experience efforts.
